v0.8.0.0

Eight-Zero fully overhauls combat, fleshes out piracy, and a new opening questline to Absolute Infinity. The editor has been fully reworked, and the engine has been upgraded to be even more extensible than before.

Absolute Infinity is also coming soon to Steam! Wishlist it now.

Combat Overhaul

The outfitting menu

Combat is now punchier, leveraging the full physics simulation added last update. Players are now free to customize their ships loadouts by swapping hard points or applying upgrade modules. Weapons have their own strengths, weaknesses, and price points.

Piracy

Systems now have a chance to randomly spawn pirate dens - pockets of space with enemies to defeat and loot to claim. Missions on the job board will ask you to clear these dens out and restore order to the system in exchange for money.

Graphics

There is now a basic lighting system in the game, casting shadow on parts of objects not facing the sun. This effect can be disabled, as it performs poorly in the software renderer

Intro Quest

The intro quest has been reworked to make the tutorial an optional side component of the intro. Several bugged quests have been temporarily disabled.
